Warden Message

Dear Warden and Registrant:

Please share the following information with all American citizens as soon as possible.  Please contact the American Citizen Services section at the U.S. Embassy Quito via email (ConsularQuito@state.gov) or telephone +593-5-398-5000 ext. 3800 or the U.S. Consulate General Guayaquil via e-mail ACSGuayaquil@state.gov or telephone +593-4-232-3570 ext 227, if you have any questions.

The U.S. Embassy Quito and Consulate General Guayaquil are gathering information about available skills within the U.S. Citizen community in Ecuador that can be useful during an emergency.  In the event of an emergency or crisis situation, the U.S. Embassy may call on private American citizens to assist the Embassy in assisting those in need.

Many of you have developed skills from previous jobs, hobbies, or life experiences that can be useful in an emergency, whether it be technical skills, language abilities, etc.  Some examples of useful skills/experiences include but are not limited to: search and rescue, fire fighting/fire prevention, structural engineering, certified electrician, chem/bio first responder training, disaster assessment, language expertise, and medical or professional skills.

If you are willing and able to help your fellow Americans in Ecuador during a crisis situation, please respond to consularquito@state.gov if you are located in U.S. Embassy Quito’s consular district or ACSguayaquil@state.gov if you are located in Consulate General Guayaquil’s district with the following information (a breakout of consular districts is provided at the end of this email):

• Name
• Address
• Contact Phone
• Languages Spoken
• Own transportation means besides vehicle (i.e. plane, boat, helicopter)?
• Own communication equipment?
• Own/work at a radio station or media outlet?

Quito’s Consular District covers the provinces of Bolivar, Carchi, Chimborazo, Cotopaxi, Esmeraldas, Imbabura, Napo, Santo Domingo, Pastaza, Pichincha, Sucumbios, Orellana, Tungurahua, and Morona Santiago.

Guayaquil’s Consular District covers the provinces of Azuay, Canar, El Oro, Santa Elena, Galapagos, Guayas, Loja, Los Rios, Manabi, and Zamora Chinchipe.
