American Specialist in Civil Rights Gives Talks in Guayaquil and Cuenca

Robert Cottrol, Professor of Law, Philosophy and Sociology at George Washington University, led discussions on civil rights at Universidad Católica de Cuenca, Participacion Ciudadana in Guayaquil and the School of Communications at the University of Guayaquil, all sponsored by the US Consulate General in Guayaquil.
Dr. Cottrol offered an in-depth analysis of the history of the civil rights movement in the U.S. and its repercussions in the country and in the Western Hemisphere, as well as an overview of the current state of racial issues in various parts of the world. His visit marked the first time that Dr. Cottrol participated in the Consulate’s “Visiting Speakers” program.
