 Panelists during the roundtable discussion

In honor of the 88th anniversary of the approval of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which granted women in the United States the right to vote, the U.S. Consulate General and the Centro Ecuatoriano-Norteamericano (CEN) sponsored a roundtable discussion of issues relating to gender in politics and society.
The panelists participating in the roundtable were prominent American and Ecuadorian women who are living examples of the advances that women have made in the past century.  The Political and Economic Officer, Vistazo Magazine Editor Patricia Estupiñan and CEN Director General Susana Cepeda each shared their experiences with approximately 170 students from the CEN.
The Consulate’s Public Affairs Officer served as the moderator of the forum, which was conducted completely in English to help the students increase and improve their English skills.
