The Centro Ecuatoriano-Norteamericano (CEN) invited a representative of the Consulate General to give the opening remarks during the presentation “Rumor de Inventario”, a book by Ecuadorian-American writer Fernando Itúrburu. Mr. Itúrburu is one of the best living Ecuadorian authors and also received a Fulbright scholarship from the U.S. government many years ago.
During his presentation, the American vice consul emphasized the CEN’s as a binational center and success in promoting cultural ties between Ecuador and the United States. “The fact that the CEN is promoting a book by an Ecuadorian-American writer demonstrates the commitment that the institution has to strengthening the relations between our two countries,” said the diplomat.
The event at the CEN also gave the writer the opportunity to read part of his work to the attendees, who thoroughly enjoyed this outstanding writer’s latest work. “Rumor de Inventario” is a personal anthology, in which Mr. Itúrburu celebrates more than 30 years of writing.
