Building on the successful kickoff of the “Adopt-a-School” program, Vice Consul Shawn Tribe visited the “República de los Estados Unidos” public school this past Fourth of July. She participated as a special guest in a ceremony that the school organized in honor of American Independence Day and its best students.
During her speech, the American diplomat congratulated the honor students, reaffirmed her interest in supporting the cultural exchange activities with the school and donated Fourth of July-themed decorations for the celebration.
The “Adopt-a-School” program is part of a wider Consulate initiative, in which Vice Consuls will be implementing similar projects in other underprivileged schools in Guayaquil with the goal of strengthening ties between the Ecuadorian community and the American people.
