Consular Corps of Quito Honors Ambassador Jewell with Consular Excellency Award

In a ceremony held in Quito on February 14, the Consular Corps of Quito honored Ambassador Linda Jewell with the Consular Excellency award for her constant work to improve the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the United States and Ecuador.  The award recognized the U.S. Mission’s accomplishments under Ambassador Jewell’s direction in areas like poverty reduction, job creation, combating exploitation, aid to communities in the Northern Border region, protection of the environment and assistance to the victims of natural disasters.  The Consular Corps also highlighted the importance of the Mission’s academic and cultural exchange programs, as well as the aid offered to Ecuadorians by American medical missions and volunteers.
