Packet 4

The Packet 4 (PK4) is a packet of information that lists all the documents that are required for the visa interview.  It also explains how to request an appointment through our Visa Information Service (VIS) once the beneficiary has complied with all the instructions mentioned in it.

Depending on what visa category you are applying for, there are different versions of the PK4.  An Immigrant Visa Category describes the relationship between the petitioner and the applicant seeking to immigrate to the United States.  To find out more about Immigrant Visa Categories, click here.

Packet 4 for Immigrant visa applicants: This PK4 is for all immigrant visa categories (except for K visas).  If your visa category is IR1, IR2, CR1, CR2, IR5, F1, F3, F4, F2A/FX, F2B, E3 or EW you must download this Packet.

Packet 4 for K1 visa applicants:  These visas are based on petitions made by U.S. citizens for their fiancée/fiancé. This type of visa allows the beneficiary to travel to the United States to marry the petitioner and later file a change of status from non-immigrant to immigrant status.

Packet 4 for K3 visa applicants:  These visas are based on petitions made by U.S. citizens for their spouses. This type of visa was created to reunify families in the United States until the Immigrant Visa can be processed.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please do NOT make any travel arrangements, purchase airline tickets, dispose of any property, or give up employment until you have received your immigrant visa.
