Notarial Services

 The Consulate's notarial services include:


• Oaths (the signee must come in person, the document must be drafted in English, it must come unsigned, and it should be intended to be used in the U.S.),
• U.S. passport issuance consent for minors under 16 (Form DS-3053),
• Certificates of marital status, and
• Translator’s oaths from Spanish to English  (we do not certify translations from English into Spanish)

• We do not authenticate Ecuadorian notaries’ signatures, if you require this service please contact the Ecuadorian Foreign Relations Ministry closest to your place of residence and request an apostille.  You can find their addresses at

• We do not certify U.S. issued documents to be used in Ecuador.  If you require this service you need to contact the state’s authentication office where the document was issued.  To find the list of authenticating offices in the U.S. please visit the following site
