Warden Message
February 9, 2009
Dear Warden:
In an effort to strengthen communication among U.S. citizens in the Guayaquil Consular District, we are planning quarterly meetings with our wardens. Our next warden training will be held on Friday, March 6th from 10:00AM-12:00PM at the U.S. Consulate General in Guayaquil. We will be discussing emergency preparedness: how to prepare for crises, how to protect yourself, and how to communicate important information with fellow U.S. citizens in various emergency situations.
Like many countries, Ecuador could potentially experience a variety of natural risks including earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and flooding. During our training session, we will provide you with tools to minimize your risk and help to protect others if a disaster occurs. If you plan to attend, please notify the ACS office no later than March 4th at 4:00PM. To confirm your attendance, please contact us at ACSGuayaquil@state.gov providing us with your full name, date of birth and passport number. Wardens who do not RSVP will not be able to participate in the training. Sign-In for the meeting begins at 9AM. Dress is business casual, and please be sure to bring your U.S. passport.
If you know any U.S. citizens interested in becoming a warden, please spread the word. We are looking for dedicated individuals who are willing to help out in emergencies. Anyone interested in becoming a warden may email the Consulate (ACSGuayaquil@state.gov) for more information. As you know, being a warden is also a great opportunity to meet other U.S. citizens in your community and learn about the services that the Consulate provides.
We look forward to meeting with you soon!
