Medical Exam

• All immigrant visa applicants, regardless of age or gender, must have a medical exam. All medical exam expenses are paid for by the applicant.
  
  
• To get a medical exam, take your passport and two regulation photographs to one of the doctors listed below.  You should also take any vaccination certificates (record of immunizations) you have.  The doctor will make the necessary arrangements to perform a chest x-ray, blood test, HIV test, and general health exam.
  
  
• You must provide the doctor with a record of immunizations (regardless of the age of the applicant). The doctor will notify the applicant if he/she is missing any immunizations and what steps to take.  To know what vaccinations are necessary for very age group please click here.  Note: K1, K2, K3, and K4 visa applicants are not requiered to take any vaccination.
  
  
• After the examination, the doctor will provide a sealed envelope containing the medical exams. You must present this sealed envelope to the Consular Section of the U.S. Consulate General in Guayaquil at the date and time of your appointment.
  
  
• The medical exams will take a minimum of 72 hours. Keep this in mind when planning your medical exams in advance of your appointment at the U.S. Consulate.
  

Costs

• Adults: The cost for the medical exam, including chest x-ray, blood tests, HIV test, and general health exam, is $80 (EIGHTY DOLLARS). This cost does not include immunizations, if necessary.
  
  
• Children: Children under the age of 15 do not need chest x-rays or blood tests unless directed by the doctor. The cost for children's medical exams is $25 (TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS). This cost does not include immunizations, if necessary.
