Check your case status

If your immigrant visa application was refused under Section 221(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act for missing document(s), you may send all the required documents listed in the refusal letter given to you on your interview date by DHL Ecuador.  You may check the status of your case on-line 15 business days from the date you submitted these documents to DHL.

If your case number is not included in any of the lists following 15 business days, it may be for the following reasons:

1) Your case is still pending; follow the instructions on the letter you will receive by DHL.

2) You visa has been approved. DHL will deliver your passport and the visa envelope to the address your have requested.

If we have requested civil documents such as birth, marriage, divorce or death certificates, please keep in mind that we only accept hand-written certificates that are direct copies from the book of the Civil Registry Office and that have the official seal.  We do not accept computerized or typed forms.  You may review our document sample library for more information.

If you are not able to get a direct copy from the Civil Registry because the books are lost or have suffered any damage you must bring a letter from your local Civil Registry office including the reasons why they couldn’t provide you a direct copy.  You must also bring a direct copy of your birth/marriage/divorce certificate from the National Files’ books from the Civil Registry’s main office in Quito.
